Group Leader - Christine Hayward
singing.10@louthu3a.org.uk
We meet on the third Tuesday of each month
in the Conoco Room from 2.30pm until 4.15pm.
Break for the summer
Next meeting is 19th OCTOBER
The aim is to enjoy singing a variety of songs in a mixed group.
You don't need to read music or remember words as sheets are provided.
Communal singing is good for both the mind and body,
a fact well documented in research to be found in
amongst others the British Journal of Medical
Psychology.
As well as burning off 150 calories an hour, it is a stress
reliever, improves breathing and muscle tone, and
works on depression, stammering, stress, low esteem,
asthma and chronic pain. Most important it is FUN.
Apart from singing at church or football matches,
opportunities to sing with others, when you don’t feel
confident enough to join a choir, are few.
Louth U3A Singing Group offers you the opportunity to
sing numbers from the musicals, a blast from the Beatles, favourite folk songs
from school days and lots, lots more.
This is a strictly UNISEX activity. You can
yodel, chant, intone, yowl, croon, emote – All are welcome of whatever ability.
Hope to see you on the third Tuesday of the month at the Conoco Room from
2.30 to 4.15 pm - not in summer months
Cost only £1 including refreshments.
